Bobingen, March 17, 2025 – Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme introduces "BoneCrusher," a tool for dry machining of extruded aluminum profiles that revolutionizes the processing of these profiles. BoneCrusher achieves improved surface qualities without the use of cooling lubricants. This makes machining resource-saving, sustainable, and, due to the elimination of toxic fumes, also safe for health. Dry chips save the user the time-consuming task of cleaning the workpieces of clumped, adhering chips. The new, process- and material-optimized, specially coated tools are now available in 16 standard sizes; customer-specific sizes are also available. Hufschmied on demand.
High-quality, burr-free milling results without lubrication – with the BoneCrusher Hufschmied in the processing of extruded aluminum profiles, new standards in sustainability and efficiency have been set. Until now, wet chips, which sometimes clung to cavities as clumps, had to be laboriously removed. Adhering chips posed a risk of damaging anodized surfaces or disrupting the cathodic dip coating. Entire cleaning process steps are no longer necessary thanks to the dry processing tool from Hufschmied The pollution of machine operators from coolant is eliminated, and dry chips are easier to recycle.
“We are delighted that with the BoneCrusher tool for machining aluminum extruded profiles, we have succeeded in developing an efficient, durable tool for process optimization that is also resource-saving and sustainable because, for the first time in this application, it allows for the elimination of cooling and lubrication,” explains Christel Hufschmied, managing director of the Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH
