Honeycombs are honeycomb-shaped materials, usually made of paper, aramid or aluminum. When shaped and bonded to so-called cover layers (GFRP, CFRP or aluminum), so-called honeycomb panels are created. During processing, there are always problems with unclean cut edges or honeycomb parts that are not separated. The abrasive cover layers increase tool wear drastically. In order to be able to insert inserts into the components, pockets are incorporated which are filled with special core filling material.
