Hufschmied Engineering Center: Graphite and ceramic processing on Röders machine

Bobingen, Soltau, September 13, 2023 – The Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH expands the equipment of its engineering center with a 5-axis HSC machine RXP501DS from Röders GmbH. In the past, machining processes have been optimized and tested together for customers at the Soltau technical center in Lower Saxony. From November 1, 2023, this will now also be the case in Swabia Bobingen a Röders machine is available. The development of efficient customer-specific processes with special tools primarily relates to the challenges in machining graphite and ceramic materials.

“Integrating a Röders machine in our engineering center is a further step for us to be able to offer our often shared customers optimal support and to further strengthen our corporate partnership. By purchasing the new 5-axis HSC machine RXP501DS from Röders, we can quickly recreate manufacturing conditions without having to intervene in our customers’ ongoing series production,” explains Ralph Hufschmied, Managing director of Hufschmied machining system GmbH.

Dr.-Ing. Oliver Gossel, authorized representative at Röders GmbH, adds: “We are pleased to work with the tool manufacturer Hufschmied “To have found a strong partner with whom new and complex tasks can be tackled efficiently and in partnership.”

Maximize the possibilities of machines and tools

Hufschmied is known for material-optimized tools such as the patented Graftor®, an innovative tool for low-vibration graphite machining with two roughing and two finishing cutting edges each, which are arranged opposite each other in a pushing and pulling manner, so that the cutting forces almost cancel each other out. With such tools, the possibilities of high-end machines such as the Röders RXP501DS can be fully exploited. The new machine in Hufschmied Engineering Center impresses with its combination of machine precision and processing speed. The drive technology with direct drives, which is operated by Röder's own control technology with 32 kHz controllers, contributes to this. A special feature is the grinding technology integrated into the machine. With advice and testing in Soltau and Bobingen The two family companies are working together to develop solutions for future markets in which ceramic materials are machined. The RXP501DS is also ideal for graphite processing.
